The Seychelles MSP Atlas was initiated in 2014 to support the Marine Spatial Plan process, particularly the development of the zoning design and in stakeholder engagement. Its purpose has always been to provide a transparent, evidence‑based platform for stakeholders to access, review, and share spatial data relevant to Seychelles’ marine environment. The Atlas contains a wide range of maps that illustrate key aspects of the marine ecosystem, as well as the human uses and activities within Seychelles’ waters. These maps played an essential role in visualizing information during SMSP development and will continue to be a valuable resource for Ministries and stakeholders as the SMSP is implemented—especially in supporting informed decision‑making for marine activities.
